The Mirror Poem by Segel Duarte

The Mirror

To believe in God?
I don't even believe in myself,
Not even a shred of certainty,
No, nothing I can truly believe,
Perhaps because truth was never there,
And we gaze outward,
Deceiving ourselves that truth exists,
You slumber peacefully,
Yet you see, it's all a dream,
Upon awakening, the dream dissipates,
It merely was,
You look ahead and behold God,
Extending a hand, lulling you to sleep,
That's when the mirror shatters,
And you dream of fixing it,
Fragment by fragment,
Thinking it was all a dream,
Thus, I question,
To believe in God?
