The Misinterpretation Of A Mother Poem by izzie jonesmunroe

The Misinterpretation Of A Mother

'From the bitterness inside
To the public shame
The morning may be bright
But the day cast in gloom

The summer brings darkness
Not only to my skin
It brings a twinge of regret
To me, within

The words unspoken, the words cursed
Lay on my heart as you utter
You speak in tongues and circles
I fear the worst

You say you accept me....
Then how can you disagree? '

She is your child, you are her mother
You will never fully understand each other
