The Moment Poem by Chris Glenn

The Moment

Fresh cut grass,
Star Spangled Banner,
Hot Dogs.

Line-up card,
Girlfriend in the stands,
Play Ball.

Two runners on,
The count is 3-2,
The pitch.

Holding their breath,
Suspense fills the air,
That sound.

Off it goes,
Approaching the wall,
He leaps.

Could it be,
It's so hard to tell,
He lands.

Hands go up,
Drinks and snacks spill,
Crowd cheers.

It's all over,
A hero is made in,
The moment.
