The Moment Paused Poem by Onyinyechi Mukoro

The Moment Paused

One sunny afternoon, the world stood still,
He laughed across the street, a fleeting thrill.
My heart, a drum, skipped beats unknown,
A spark ignited, and I felt it in my bones.
Eyes like constellations, laughter like spring,
The air around him seemed to softly sing.
Though young, my soul whispered a quiet truth,
A first sight's magic, a glimpse of endless youth.
Time bent gently, holding its breath,
I tasted forever in that brief caress.
And though I knew not what life would bring,
I knew somehow, he held my everything.
