The Moment Song Poem by Zoe Nyght

The Moment Song

Do you ever get those moments?
Those moments when life strikes in the most tender places
and all you can think about is right now –
the blinds covering the silent night and friends like
brothers and sisters and fateful connections and falling apart?

No one is where they should be
but that’s life.
We’re all sad souls alone in a crowded room
I wish you could save me
but all artists die starving and lonely

Do you ever get those moments?
Those moments when leaving feels like more than
the times of the trees, when heaviness grabs your heart,
when lost is the picture of happiness in a far away world
and all familiar faces are distant and fleeting?

No one is where they should be
but that’s life.
We’re all sad souls alone in a crowded room
I wish you could save me
but all artists die starving and lonely

Do you ever get those moments?
Those moments when you’re lying on the pavement
between childhood and growing up and all you want is
passion to fall upon you like rain, for beauty to hit the streets
like wet art, for your destiny to be nothing less than poetry?

No one is where they should be
but that’s life.
We’re all sad souls alone in a crowded room
I wish you could save me
but all artists die starving and lonely

Do you ever get those moments?
Do you?
