The Moment That Paused Poem by Allison Sparks

The Moment That Paused

Rating: 4.5

The moment when seems to pause,
You cry out of sadness or glee.
I wonder if you would hear me in the chaos.
I reached for you but you didn't seem to see.

Now go and head for the bright,
And I'll carry the darker around me.
Even though I lost you from my sight
The voices of your soul were as if set free.

The moment paused
I still searched for you and you went on,
And now I'm still fighting the gloominess it has caused,
Well, my stronger self is yet to be born.

It lays beneath my perfect- the pain.
All they see is the hard of me.
My efforts did not go in vain.
If you were hear, even you could see.

That I forgave you with all my heart,
That they sing with pride- the scars.
The way it hit me like a dart,
I simply should have known that we could never go far.

Forgiveness is by far a more fulfilling emotion than revenge. It's an attribute of the strong and not the weak. A well articulated piece of poetry insightfully penned with conviction. A lovely poem with good rhyme scheme. Thanks for sharing Allison. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
