The Month Of Ramadan, Poem by Dr Shamim Ali

In the month of Ramadan, we fast and pray,
To show devotion in a holy way.
For this is the month of Quran's first descent,
A guide for all with its divine content.

We wake before the break of dawn,
To eat and drink before the fast goes on.
We hold on tight to our faith and belief,
And find solace in the act of relief.

As the sun sets and the day draws to a close,
We gather to break our fast with those,
Who share our faith and our belief in one,
And give thanks for all that has been done.

In this month, we seek forgiveness and peace,
And ask Allah's blessings to never cease.
For Ramadan is a month of joy and grace,
A time to seek Allah's mercy and embrace.

So let us cherish this holy month with care,
And seek Allah's guidance to always be there.
For in the month of Ramadan, we find our way,
And Allah's love and mercy always stay.
