The Mountain Poem by Abhishek Parikh

The Mountain

Mountain mountain dear mountain,
How low those cloud look around you,
Beautiful are you snow cladden peaks,
Always filled with timbers and teak,
Alas like you there are many few,

Mountain mountain tall mountain,
Many of God's creatures you shelter,
Rivers running down your trails,
Your forests filled with Bloomingdale's,
Everything is in kelter for you are indeed the perfect belter,

Mountain mountain humbling mountain,
The size of you is prodigious,
Chomolungma would seem to be your tyke,
Too altitudinous to ever even try to hike,
Always looking so prestigious,

Mountain mountain wondrous mountain,
How many secrets you hold in there,
Your beautiful caves and your clandestine ways,
Always those singing mocking jay's,
For you one should do more than care,

Mountain mountain old mountain,
Alas the time has come to depart,
I have always cared for you deep in my heart,
But now there shall be over you a new and more concrete path,
Those who decapitated you have only my wrath,

Mountain mountain dear mountain.
