The Mountain Of Sand Poem by Deja Noelle Rupp

The Mountain Of Sand

Rating: 0.5

And there we were on that windy summer's day
At a beach of which we strayed
Far away from our mothers and sisters
Just to be alone
To find a place we could call our own
So we set out to go on an adventure
We saw a sand mountain and raced over to it
Steep and high
I was ready for the climb
The beginning seemed easy I ran with you too fast
Thinking I had enough energy to make myself last
All the way through this hike but what i did not know
Is i needed to take it easy if i ever wanted hope
Hope that I would reach the top
The top of this mountain with my handsome boyfriend Chris
Confident and giddy I grabbed your hand ran up that hill as fast as i can
Pretty soon I started getting tired
Falling on my face
Running out of breathe
But you were always there
Always ready to help
As I lay in the sand as others passed together hand in hand
I realized every couple had times when they fell got up together and started up the huge mountain again
Some couples gave up and started walking down
But I wasn't gonna let that happen
Not with my man!
So as i lay there on the warm sand
You stuck out your hand
I gaze up into your eyes take your soft hand and smile
And as we neared the top of that gigantic hill
The goings got harder
I fell and so did you
But every time we did
We got up again
Hand in Hand we reached the top
No more worries together at last(:

I know we can get to the top of the mountain baby
Even though its not gonna be easy :)
i love you
