The Music Maker Poem by Monica M Engeler

The Music Maker

A legend maybe gone,
But John, your words will live on.
A decade of your songs represent the sixties
And for that we thank thee.

John, you made your fame
And for that we will always
Remember your name.

Your death brought great sorrow
For you, there will be no tomorrow,
But for us, your melodies will live on.

To many, an era has come to an end,
But in reality, this is not true,
For a new era has just begun.
So now its time to say farewell to you

Goodbye,
farewell,
and rest in peace.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This was my first poem I wrote it when I was 18 years old. I was a big Beatles fan. Something really hit me when John Lennon died.
