The Narcisstic One Poem by Francis Duggan

The Narcisstic One

He does not like himself or others and he is one to harbour a grudge
One of the brotherhood of big brother of others a self appointed judge
Tis said he had an unhappy childhood for narcisstic people always some excuse
Yet so many people i do know in their younger years knew of abuse
And they matured to be nice people for our shortcomings others things we do blame
'Twould seem they are aware of their failings but justify them just the same
In ways i do feel sorry for him as i feel he's not right in the head
And though he does quote from his bible the soul in him does seem quite dead,
He has a need for power over others this need for to be in control
He feels superior to most people and on his beliefs himself he console
He works hard and is not short of money but money is not everything
He would like the World to sing his praises but the praises of none he does sing
He is not what you'd call a nice person and of him 'twould be fair to say
That he is not one who has brought happiness or laughter to anyone's day.
