The Narcoleptic Amnesiac Poem by Robert Rorabeck

The Narcoleptic Amnesiac

Can’t remember my name.
When her blue eyes crack open,
It’s the first time I’ve seen blue.
Hungry blue birds flutter about me.
She says, “I love you,
Whoever you are.”

Then, promptly, she falls
Back asleep
In the other man’s arms.
