The Narwhals Poem by Shannon Harney

The Narwhals

Rating: 5.0

Somewhere in the deepest region
Where my unsteady secrets hide
There is an arctic arena
Where two opposites collide

The first creature is pure,
Casting light into the deep
An existence meant for virtue
That thrives for harmony

The other is a vacuum
Vilely consuming life nearby
A darkness embodied
A shadow forever unsatisfied

The two at odds forever
Locked in a duel deep inside
And in an ocean of any another
This is what you'll find

For any host to win
They must learn to fuel the first
For to aid the second creature
Is an ocean of eternal thirst
