The Natives Poem by Colonel Muhamad Khalid Khan

The Natives

Life is a transit camp and moments are caged
In our imprisonment for what we are gauged
When every act, every move is properly paged
Without our desire and our liking we are staged

People in robes tell that we are accounted for
We listen to their malicious sermons and snore
Apparently born free but we are behind the bar
To this vicious circle for forgiveness we implore

God is so merciful and just sparingly forgives
Only He is the one who knows our all motives
He loves us not just as captives but as real natives
He rewards us for our all intentions and initiatives
