The Necessary Lies Poem by June FeirCruz

The Necessary Lies

Rating: 5.0

Are we doomed because you have lied twice?
The first one was sheer denial
The second one was sheer omission
And yet here I am staring at the dark recesses of your mind.

I want to be inside of you, knowing all your deepest desires
I want to fulfill every one of them, no holds barred
I want to drink the forbidden wine
And I know you want me that close to you.

This dance just keeps getting better
You and I moving with the beat.
The crescendo keeps you going
Dance to this music till the end.

Because lies or truth
We only have each other in the end.
Time and space have no bearing
In this reality we both created.

This poem is about the writer's (me) uncertainty about whether this relationship would work because of her discovery that her significant other had been dishonest.
