The One You Chose Over Me Poem by June FeirCruz

The One You Chose Over Me

Rating: 5.0

It was purely by happenstance when I stumble upon images of your past
The one you chose over me after that fateful night
After the demise of your long awaited union
You told me: 'I should have married you'
Have you forgotten? You never asked

I was too nice, I was too kind, too available
It never occurred to you: It is because I was madly in love with you
And so I lost you....
My world toppled over and I died a thousand deaths

It is so ironic if not moronic
After she slashed her Vera Wang wedding dress
You bought her another one
And still married that psychotic woman

Fast forward, years later
'She is out of the picture'
' I don't love her all that much'
Sure, you don't love her anymore she is toxic for you
It couldn't get worst than that

All the while: I suffered in silence and clandestinely
All the humiliation, I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy
You had no explanation only that: I was too kind

Though I am tempted to laugh at you
I am still here, loving you from afar
I may be imperfect in your eyes
But in truth I am flawless
Because I will still love you till the end of time

After all the fuss....after all those tearful nights
I watch your life: front row and center
You are alone and you pretend not to be lonely.
