The Need To Write Poetry - Poem by Lana Hensley

The white of the paper

haunts me

Hungering for ink to fill its

need

A desire to be stained with

poetry

In my mind it plants

a seed

Water me with the liquid from

thy pen

Blue, Black, Red, I care not which of these

you choose

Let it soak deep

within

And I will be your

muse

Keeping watch over the words that sprout from your

fingertips

And drip sticky sweet like nectar, I am

overcome

Like the taste of maple sugar

glazed lips

Palate wet with temptation

succomb
