The New Messiah? Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

The New Messiah?

The clock ticks loud, the words ring out,
'All civilization, ' filled with doubt.
A darkness falls, a fading light,
'Will die tonight, ' in fear and fright.

He sees a change, a brand new start,
With wiser minds, a brand new heart.
'Revolutionary, ' hopes take flight,
To banish shadows of the night.

Extortion's grip, corruption's stain,
Forty-seven years of grief and pain.
An ending nears, a fateful test,
For Iran's people, to be blessed.

The world holds breath, awaits the dawn,
To see if darkness will be gone.
A weighty moment, truth concealed,
What destiny will be revealed?
