The Nights Keep Calling Poem by Jayson Howard

The Nights Keep Calling

Hold those lips,
pressed against his.
Oh you feel so smart,
and oh you fell apart.
Sneaking off into the night,
Waiting for him to hold you tight.
Have you ever felt so wrong?
Then don’t settle for less.
You’re a princess,
that deserves the best.

The nights keep calling,
and you’re still falling,
for the next guy,
that walks by.
Baby your heart tells you so.
So girl just let him go,
or you’ll never feel so right.
And don’t settle for less,
when you deserve the best.

You lie in your bed,
and the lies he fed,
are just stuck in your head.
All the torn secrets,
from your heart, you couldn’t keep it,

Going, and it stopped…, it died…
and so many nights you’ve cried.
Don’t settle for less,
be a witness,
to someone who wants,
to give you, the very best.
