The Obligatory Mushy One Poem by Elsa Bear

The Obligatory Mushy One

Rating: 5.0

if i knew our last kiss would be our last
i never would have stopped.
i would have savoured the taste of your lips,
i would have remembered every detail of your face,
and the feel of your hair
as it fell throught my fingers.
if i knew our last hug would be our last,
i never would have let go.
i would have kept my head
just where it fit.
i would have stayed in that warm embrace
and never let the space between us
get too big.
if i knew our last goodbye would be our last
i would have stayed in that moment
forever,
freezing that perfect second
when we were still a 'we'
when you and i were an 'us'
and our hearts were still whole.

i know just what you're feeling. i knew the last time i kissed my ex that it would be the last time... and as hard as i tried to memorize everything... the details still faded. it sucks! great poem
