The Obsessed Poem by Jenny Williams

The Obsessed

Objective
you speak
Obsessive
in thought
Afraid of
this feeling
I’m kept in the dark

Bound by
Aggression
Conformity rules
In infinite chaos
You kindness
is cruel

My heart quakes
and shudders
Turning inward,
Distraught
In quiet abusing
you say it’s my fault

How can I recoil
Protecting my heart
A spirit that’s breaking
Breaks further
Apart

In Anguish
I crumble
So empty, so lost
In pain I’m contracting
in agony caught

You storm through
my feelings
blazing hatred and blame
forsaking the tenderness
that heals all
pain

All I need is your softness
to quiet my doubt
harsh in aggression
my heart gets cut out

Still in the
silence
I meet with great odds
I stand to confront
the giant so small

A little boy crying
is all that you are
A little boy dying
for love reaching far

but your pain will not
vanquish
nor agony cease
until your death-grip
over me you release.

You spoke true, and it reeled me in! Loved it!
