The Olender, A Beauty Queen Poem by umaprosad das

The Olender, A Beauty Queen

Roselike malty Petals Pinkish Oleander Flowers
Now fully bloomed in our courtyard in clusters
Flamboyant, stylish, exuberant beauty of these
Attract passersby, babies, butterflies, and bees

The pinkish, soft, silky petals are tightly thickened
In a cluster so many flowers that, branches bend
Smell out gentle aroma pleasing everyone nearby
Children, to have a flower, lift their hands and try

Despite the oleander's controversial characteristic
Flowers' malty cluster status and beautiful artistic
Presentation of varieties' of their kinds and colors
People grow in households and love these flowers

But human beings know the best use of adversity
Take the odd properties in their benefit and dignity
Scientists are trying from this tree's nature of a toxin
And almost successful to invent Cancers' medicine
