The One That I Love Poem by Derrick Andrews

The One That I Love

The one that I love, is honest and kind,

I can tell her anything I want, whatever comes to mind,

Closer to perfect, no one else could ever be,

Than this vision of perfection, she's everything to me,

Her beauty is unmatched, her personality, unique,

It's clearly evident in the way that she smiles and speaks,

She has a mind of her own, and her thoughts are divine,

She is the cure for my sadness, her heart touches mine,

If anything at all, I owe her my all my love,

For she is as beautiful and pure, as a graceful white dove,

And I long for her embrace, so much that I'm angry,

I can rarely speak to her, though I see her daily,

My words are locked up, like a convicted murderer,

I cant express how I feel, I'm so shy around her,

Her eyes are simply elegant, I can not help but stare,

Hiding my feelings is painful, and difficult to bear,

She tells me that she loves me, I freeze on my reply,

I feel as though I cut her deep, and left her there to die,

So why couldn't I say it back? , Why did I have to stall? ,

She must feel as though I abandoned her, as if I didn't love her at all,

But my feelings for her are unparalleled, no other can compare,

I just love her beautiful face, and the way she wears her hair,

And her figure, petite and flawless, curves like the waves in the sea,

My heart throbs ever so furiously, whenever she is near me,

If only I could let her know, the way I really feel,

Then what happens in my fantasies, will at last, become real,

She's everything I've longed for, the perfect package indeed,

She's everything I've wanted, and everything I need,

Even in a thousand lifetimes, my wish would not defer,

For I would give a million lifetimes, to spend a just one with her,

And even though I've never said it, I'm pretty sure she knew,

That my feelings were quite evident, and obviously true,

One day I'll tell her how I feel, one day we'll come together,

And if in fact we make that loving bond, I hope it lasts forever...
