The One You Send Away Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

The One You Send Away

My dog came to me wagging his tail
I was busy so I sent him away
I said, 'Go to your House'....
and as he sadly, slowly, turned
looked back once and walked away
I saw his ears droop
and dejection his tail did stop
and I realized I had been cruel
I've let my frustration and sadness rule
and I said...
'come here good boy'
and happiness returned
his eyes lit up
his tail wagged
and he pranced to me
I picked him up and he licked my face
and made the bad feelings for a moment go away
What matters most is love
Love is pure
Don't wish or send love away
Someone's love might rescue you someday
