The Op Shop Rose Poem by Francis Duggan

The Op Shop Rose

She looked so well dolled up the fair ageing rose
And few would believe that she does wear op shop clothes
She wears heavy makeup her gray hair dyed brown
And one would swear that she was from the wealthy side of the town
So friendly and pretty and nice to behold
And who would believe she is fifty years old
And one cannot say of her that she does not dress well
At the local op shop good stuff they do sell
She looks as attractive as most half of her age
And some in their twenties she even upstage
Quite pretty to look at and 'twould be fair to say
That lovely as her one doesn't meet every day
From the local op shop the clothes that she does wear
And she looks a beauty and beauty is rare.
