The Other Side - Poem by Robert Brendan

entertained at the friends
walk up apartment
the second flight of
stairs heralds a large
window and artificial
hanging plants.
the man my
friend
we smoked meth
together
for a year
together
leaves for a moment
while the woman
a nice one (no really)
his
says
sorry rob
for what I say
I have just been making
some phone calls
so what?
she says that girls are
that way because
of
courtesy or
something
and girls do
really do
worry about that sort of
sauce
but then flip it around
and that worry
becomes
dishonest useless shit
that muddies
and pains.

so much for their
redeeming qualities.
