The Pain Poem by Jim O'Donnell

The Pain

Children In Need was the day
I lost some hair in one strange way
Grown men standing round
All just waiting to be waxed down

Legs for me that was enough
Know way were they getting to the other stuff
Lying on the prep bed
I must be off my blooming head

Hot wax spread upon my leg
Not knowing what lay ahead
A pound a strip I hear the cry
The wife says I'll give that a try

Strip pressed firmly into place
You could see the panic on my face
She pulled on it with all her might
I looked down not a hair in sight

First one down only ninety nine to go
But the pain will it ever go
For fifty years hairs on legs
Now the coldness affects theses pegs

To the woman who have waxing done
My hat is off to every one
How you suffer I do know
how do you cope when its down below

Thanks to all that sponsored me
My hairless legs and also knees
It was all put down to one great cause
The Children that need help from us
