The Pain Poem by Heather A. Inman

The Pain

Rating: 2.7

He said we're over as tears stream down my face, slowly falling to the floor with a splash. I feel as if someone cut out my heart with a dagger and threw in on the ground. As I sit here writing this tears fill my eyes and begin to spill over the edge and I violently wipe them away as if to leave no trace of them. But by the redness of my eyes you can tell I've been crying. The darkness of this room surrounds me as the pounding of the music drowns out everything except for the enclosing feeling of loneliness. The only one who cared left and now Im debating if he really did care. I cant stop thinking about him and if he really loved me. As the blade sinks deeper into my wrist I imagine how it feels to love someone that would love you back in a perfect world were no one lied, cheated, or stole. And to have someone that you can trust with your heart and know they wont break it.
