The Pain Of Almost Love Poem by Biyaya Y.

The Pain Of Almost Love

What do you do when the one you love doesn't want to be with you?
I mean... they are kind to you.
They respect you.
They show you just enough affection to make you believe there could be something more.
But they never choose you.
So you wait...
Holding on to the hope that one day they'll look into your eyes and say,
'I love you. I choose you. I want to commit.'
Instead, they give you breadcrumbs.
just enough messages,
just enough attention,
just enough warmth
to keep your hope alive.
Then they disappear.
Silence.
No calls.
No messages.
No 'How are you? '
No 'I've been thinking about you.'
They don't reach out first.
Knowing you're the emotional one,
they wait for you to break the silence.
And when you finally do...
You regret it.
Because they respond as though nothing happened.
As though your absence never mattered.
As though your heart wasn't quietly breaking.
Then the cycle begins again.
So tell me...
When will your heart finally accept what your mind has been trying to tell you?
That someone can be kind to you,
care about you in their own way,
and still not want a future with you.
When will you stop waiting for someone who isn't waiting for you?
When will you choose yourself?
When will you learn that self-love sometimes looks like walking away from the very thing your heart desperately wants?
Don't wait for them to be ready.
Be ready to let go.
Because the love meant for you will never leave you wondering where you stand.
It will never survive on breadcrumbs.
It will never make you beg to be chosen.
There are people in this world who will love you more deeply than you can imagine.
people who will choose you without hesitation.
So let go.
Let God.
And for once...
Choose yourself.
Love yourself.
