The Pain You Refuse Poem by Ashly Linscheid

The Pain You Refuse

For you.
Those cuts.
A sweet reliefe.

For me.
The pain.
So deep.

Deeper and deeper.
The better the high.

Deeper and deeper.
The more I cry.

Every new scar.
A new pain.

Each fallen tear.
Full of distain.

Cut after cut.
You don't feel.

I sit and watch.
This can't be real.

More and more
flesh you rip.

You say the pain
falls with the blood that drips.

Cursed to bear the pain
you no longer feel.

A helpless friend
who cannot steal

Away the hurt or the pain
that you refuse to feel.
