The Pangs Of Pain Poem by Karanvir Gupta

The Pangs Of Pain

Rating: 4.0

Sitting on the window rim
my eyes were hearing the raindrops
pounding hard on the breasts of earth
there were howls as if, I could feel
earth n rain wanted something to heal.

Into the state of numbness, I delved
what all I could see and feel
was a scene of pain and agony
break open the shackles; as if someone wanted to
all blurred, I was deep into the thoughts taking from their cues.

The pearls of wisdom murmuring loud
to the strings of strength, standing with a dejected pout
the plight of times and doomsday length
were we supposed to see a day like this?
So many curses turned from bliss.

Our minerals have gone, so one day water would
crude is less, and one day oxygen would
neither the affections of past exist
only and only greed persists,
this is what we call 'kalyug'!

Oh earth, you gave ample to them,
them - the generations that have lived so far,
bountiful blessings bestowed.
Dear rain, but bewildered today I am worried about
the generations, who are yet to start.

Rain, O Rain!
You too have been their friend of times
Why don't you go and ask once?
What made them change over the span
would have been better if they implemented some wiser plans.

Oh my poor Earth!
You asked me a tough favor to do
yet I feel, need and greed is what they couldn't define
and something they now won't be able to do
for once you have crossed, you have crossed the line.
