The Park Poem by Nancy L Cohen

The Park

As I lay here and look up,
I see the trees sway so gracefully from
side to side.
The breeze comes through ever so calmly.
Life is active all around.
The flies chase each other.
The bees buzz around looking,
so diligently for their flower.
The sun beats down,
but the energy and life it brings is unchanging
The smell in the air is grass and forest.
As I turn over I see a whole new world,
families, lovers, people finding themselves.
The birds looking for their meal.
Statues poised ever so carefully.
The tower high in the air waiting for it’s turn
to come alive once again.
Peace and serenity are all around
