The Passing Of The Store Clerk Poem by Ray Hansell

The Passing Of The Store Clerk

When the priest spoke his last word
Everyone stood to leave
Everyone there had heavy hearts
As people continued to grieve

I still can't believe she's gone
It seems like only yesterday
That her and I first met
With but few words to say

It's true what they say about living
The longer you live the more friends you bury
She was such a special person
So far from ordinary

She always wore a smile
For people she didn't know
That was the side of her
That would always show

She will be greatly missed
By the many people she touched
When you shopped at her store
She'd never make you feel rushed
