The Past And The Present Poem by Kavitha Krishnamurthy

The Past And The Present

I was once a flourishing tree
With so many leaves, my friends
Life was full of stimulation
It was the most beautiful chapter of my life

Then the autumn came
I think it was the time for parting
One by one the leaves started leaving
They disappeared with the wind

I tried to stop them from leaving
But desolation was in my fate
I was left to tolerate
The difficult phase on my own

Today the spring has come
Some new leaves have shown
But I still feel the insecurity
That the past may return

My life won't encounter again
Those prosperous years prior to the autumn

Great write, Kavitha. Life is very much like the seasons... but far less dependable. Really well done! Brian
