The Penniless Thief Poem by Hailey Agnew

The Penniless Thief

Did you ever hear the story,
of The Beauty & The Beast?
Did you ever hear the story,
of The Penniless Thief?

The Beauty & The Beast,
has a better ending.
The Penniless Thief,
has a message worth sending.

There once was a girl,
a penniless thief.
She was desperate,
and bewildered by grief.

She saw what she wanted,
and she took it.
She knew better,
but no longer cared.

One day the girl,
so uncaring,
stole a prized posetion,
feeling daring.

She stole a heart,
almost by accident.
She said 'hello',
with no bad intentions.

He fell in love with her,
acting on a whim.
She saw potential,
and took advantage of him.

He swept her off her feet,
and carried her away.
She never meant for this to happen,
but it did anyway.

She fell in love,
with her knight in shining armour.
But he broke her heart,
and she was struck by horror.

So the lesson is learned,
love is not to be toyed with.
She gave it a shot,
and she fell in love with him.

He broke her heart,
in the end,
and she learned her lesson,
she swore she'd never love again.

Of course she would,
because love always wins.
It never gives up,
it cruely persists.
