The People With Good Nature Never Change!
Even though the banana is kept
in the midst of the neem leaves,
the taste of the banana never varies;
It remains sweet as it is!
Likewise, even though the people
with whom one is acquainted are bad,
It is extremely rare that the people
of good nature and intelligence
will change to the tunes and sides
of the bad-minded persons
when they happened to have friendship
with such people!
This poem 'The people with good nature never change! ' is a translation by me of a poem from Tamil literature 'Naalatiyaar'
வேம்பின் இலையுட் கனியினும் வாழைதன்
தீஞ்சுவை யாதுந் திரியாதாம்; ஆங்கே
இனந்தீ தெனினும் இயல்புடையார் கேண்மை
மனந்தீதாம் பக்கம் அரிது.244 நாலடியார்
