The Performer Poem by Ivory Irving

The Performer

As handsome as can be
He has yet to hit the charts
He walks onto the stage
His smile silently shatters hearts

His voice is velvety smooth
Like an orchestra of angels
He searches for notes to soothe
Guitar as an extension of himself, his truth

Hair dark as the night
With matching star filled eyes
He makes the crowd ignite
Chanting and transforming all his cries

With a soul beyond his years
And a heart that's childlike
He shares a glance so dear
Sending hearts fluttering into the night

The performer, make way
Here in the limelight
Honest working man by day
Soul capturing performer at night
