The Pink Lake Hillier Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

The Pink Lake Hillier

Upon the island's quiet shore,
A secret sits behind the trees,
A bubblegum and rosy lake,
That sparkles in the salty breeze.

The water stays a brilliant pink,
In sunlight or in jars of glass,
Surrounded by a snowy rim,
And walls of green and tangled grass.

Tiny lives beneath the waves,
Make pigments bright and bold and deep,
With salt as thick as heavy seas,
While paperbarks their vigil keep.

It rests within the blue expanse,
A tiny jewel, strange and bright,
A hidden gift of Western shores,
That glows with such a magic light.
