The Policewoman Poem by Toshie Nohara

The Policewoman

Rating: 2.5

Caught at a busy road for
speeding
A cyclist denied the charge
'The light was green'- he insisted
The policewoman bellowed
'Young man, can't you see it was YELLOW? '
His poor excuse was neglected.
She did her duty, then
Wrote down his name.
Guilty his face paled; helpless
'Cos a law can't be ignored
It has to be respected.
