The Poor Are Here Poem by Gerry Legister

The Poor Are Here

The poorest here
are like clouds walking on air
Without a millionaire

From the hand of the giver
To the mouth of the eater
People who care
Offer miracles everywhere

Try with every kind
Some get no peace of mind
Words inside their head
gives reasons for wishing

nothing but the dread
of disappointment in everything
Coming back around haunting.
