their vastness like a painted dream;
the prairies flush, the prairies grow,
fat cattle wander too and fro;
the prairies plant, the prairies seed,
with rows of wheat, and corn, and feed;
the prairies dip, the prairies roll,
winter winds bring howling cold;
the prairies grand, the prairies last,
brown bison still feed on the grass;
the prairies earth, the prairies loam,
small prairie dogs make tunnel homes;
the prairies wind, the prairies storm,
here swirling twisters are the norm;
the prairies old, the prairies fine,
their subtle horizons sublime…
