The Problem Poem by Shawn Caine Hampton

The Problem

Math is a word for arithmetic.
But my problem started with a needle prick.

This problem of mine now rules my life.
Adding and subtracting this daily strife.

The only solution is really the problem.
No matter the equations I'll never solve em.

The first time wasn't the last nor the last the first.
There's only one thing that can quinch this thirst.

To subtract i must add to the problem.
I know the equations but I just can't solve em.

Maybe I should use some long division.
I just can't seem to make that decision.

I add to subtract, when I subtract I add.
Damn this math is drivin me mad.

When I think it's solved it seems to multiply.
No matter how hard I try and try.

So I do what I do to subtract the pain.
But I just add to the problem, this math is insane.

The more I subtract the bigger it grows.
This problem of mine that everyone knows.
