The Promises Fulfilled. Poem by Geetanjali Lachke

The Promises Fulfilled.

Words were written amiss
Hours drowned into the abyss
To get strange lines to rhyme,
The poet did resort to crime,
But within it lies a promise.

Today our immaturity in excess
Will one day pave way to success
Tomorrow we don a brand-new shine,
At present teary-eyed we may whine,
But within these tears lie the promises.

Some rhymes are on rent taken
Only to send them back to heaven
It is always a matter of time
And even though forgotten with time,
Some promises cannot be broken.
