The Prophet Poem by L MILTON HANKINS

The Prophet

In a dream the Almighty said, "You have a gift - go and prophesy."
Like the celebrated prophets of long ago, I thought, "Oh gee, oh my! "

Political messages came fast and furious over the next few days
So, I wrote them down in spiral notebooks, sometimes in a haze.

They covered many serious topics, others somewhat willy-nilly,
Some came across to me as, indeed, absurd and rather silly!

Many Republicans will hurriedly leave the Grand Ol' Party
Democrats and Independents will become hale and hearty.

Presidential hopefuls headquartered throughout
Will be greatly hindered by Donald's unruly mouth.

A bestselling "tell-all" book revealing a foreign policy blunder
Will severely diminish the U. S. State Department's thunder.

A United States Senator who is exposed for his many affairs
Will be pardoned after shedding copious tears...and prayers.

Future Americans will look elsewhere for political leaders
Away from Washington's experienced grifters and cheaters.

My hurriedly jotted lists goes on and on, in Ad Infinitum,
Most of you will read them and say, "Oh, ho-hum. So dumb! "
