The Proposal Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

The Proposal

To Sisyphus:
We shall relieve you.
Shall you obey our conditions?

We heard the din of your lamentations and pitied you.

Sisyphus:
No thank you.
I take not conditions?

Said the Heavens: Why?

Sisyphus:
My calculations tell me not to choose a new task master that be only new.
