The Proposal Poem by Robert Edgar Burns

The Proposal

I am on my knees,
Holding your soft hand.
Would you honor me,
And let me be your man?

Looking up to you,
Even as I kneel.
I’m praying hard,
Your love for me is real!

I may seem nervous,
But I feel no fear,
About what I ask,
Of you now dear!

If what’s meant to be
By que sera sera,
Then it is sent to us
By our loving God.

My heart beats hard,
For you inside.
I’m asking now,
Will you be my bride?
