The Purple Pineapple Poem by Michael McAulifff

The Purple Pineapple

Rating: 5.0

Purple Pineapple
Brings buildings of burns
Nice like a nickering flame

Numbing and gentle
Pale and sweet, you make retreat
of my heart asleep

Our conversations are deep
In the back of my heart
Feelings may peak

In time we wil speak
Maybe a kiss on the cheek
Speaking of kisses

Were you not the miss
Who I spent post Christmas with?
Speaking with beauty
Words that tasted like tea

Perfect Purple Pineapple
It was this you gave to me
Your words were stuck
Stuck on the tears of my sleeve

Weighing them down
Made my heart hard to heave
But a hug with you
Makes it hard to breathe
It's what I need

Writing about you
Makes my heart drum
Sometimes I believe
You may be the one

But I know my past
I know yours too
I won't move too fast
But this marks my start
For a move on your huge heart
