The Quest Poem by Jonathan H. Scott

The Quest

Rating: 4.5

COMES AN hour in the stream of time
When all is dark, too dark to rest—
And in that hour our fate is cast,
And thus begins a timeless quest
For love— a love we find long last.

Comes a time in the stream of love,
The heart will ask and thus confess,
Some quiet night with hair undone,
With gentle touch and soft caress—
Mind, and body, and soul are one.

Comes a love in the stream of life,
A deeper love than all the rest
That goes beyond all limits known,
Where standing guards have acquiesced—
Another's heart becomes our own.
