The Quiet Man Of The Town Poem by Francis Duggan

The Quiet Man Of The Town

For to live a good life he does the best he can
The down to earth hard working honourable man
To support his wife and children he works hard for his pay
And for him at work there is never an easy day,
A family man to his higher self true
And to people like him only credit is due
He looks up to none and on none he looks down
An unsung hero the quiet man of the Town
He pays his bills on time he doesn't borrow or owe
Yet he is a person that few wish to know
Since he is not a sports person or a member of any committee
And though a local not well known in the locality
But he does love his children and he does love his wife
And though he never may be famous he does live a good life.
