The rain was scathing
Lightning was scathing
Thunder roared scathing
One after one!
Night-rain-drops fell seething
On chill earth sizzling
With chills scathing:
The droplets on the affrighted leaves - what orchestra!
Yet
Moon was kind
And the stars kind
Each star of them
Towards the edge
Rogue Night saw Dawn coming,
Savior of storms,
Abater thereof and temperer.
